I did a ton of research before purchasing the VaporHowe 12L 2.0 and made the right choice. It might be a little overkill for me as I’m by no means an ultra or marathoner, but have been consistently putting in weekly miles for a decade now. I believe that the hydravest will be a great tool as I venture into longer runs (+9m/15k) and help carry gear during the winter! It’s the first pack I’ve owned as previously, the city I lived in had fountains everywhere...I’m a minimalist and hate carrying junk especially when running. I’ve worn a couple other running back packs and hated them.
The pack is light, the material is soft, quick-dry and breathable. The pockets are handy and well placed. Yes, the waterproof pocket is only water proof from the outside, which is a bummer, but use a ziplock - no big deal.
The pack fits well - I’m 5’1 and measure 34/32 and wear a small. I don’t have to spend much time adjusting. I have super long hair and there’s a velcro loop for the bladder - to avoid getting my hair caught I looped an elastic over it and so far that’s helped. I usually wear a tank and haven’t had any chaffing.
It’s a little pricey, but worth it for the overall quality. Being as fussy as I am I love most that it doesn’t bounce or move around.
On a side note, the CS from Nathans was also awesome.
